Inheritance Money from South Africa
I'm sure all of you have been getting emails from Africa promising millions of dollars. If you are like me, you get one of these about every month. I remember the first one I got. It said that a baron sharing my family name has died and left $26 mill to no next of kin. I kept asking for the death certificate, to which I never received, and the responses kept getting more and more irate...as much as possible for someone that barely speaks english.
Since then, I've decided I have to reply to all of these I get, and I can't be the one to end the conversation. I always have to reply. On that philosophy, the next correspondence went something like this--
I received the initial email and responded by saying, "Sounds great. Send me the money and I'll make sure you don't get any of it. You don't have my trust."
Much like the first email, the second prepared response told me not to notify the bank. That's when it got interesting. I responded by saying:
"No, let's do it this way. I work at a bank and am very familiar with American laws. If you give me your bank account, I can withdraw funds in small amounts that will avoid detection by the IRS and keep it from being taxed. Please give me your bank account number. Also, the bank monitors my email and are already aware of this situation."
They responded by telling me to set up a different email account that cannot be monitored. I replied by saying that American laws won't let us have more than one email address.
Well, it happened again. I got another message. It must be the same people because the email was exactly the same. This one is ongoing, but I'll try to stay on top of it.
This time, I responded by saying, "What a surprise! I have an uncle in Ghana that just died and is leaving me $26 mill. I'll make alot of money with $36 mill you have waiting for me!"
Again, the response was the same. But this time, I emailed him some information with a promise he could trust me:
Bank Name: Swindlers Union
Address of the Bank: 123 Fake Street
A/C No: 7
A/C Name: Checking
Swift code: 458326197289352891547322135695472167562
State and Country: Texas
Your Age: 45
Occupation: FBI Agent
Your telephone number: 745.983.7216
I'm very anxious for the response.

Excuse me while I cry myself to sleep...
Friday was my last day at Fluid. I've worked there for 2 years and really didn't think I was that attached. Yeah, I was wrong, WAY wrong. All week I didn't have much to do at work, and by much, I mean I had NOTHING to do. So when Friday came, I wasn't feeling too sad about leaving. I was feeling completely useless, so I was ready to move on. Well then Friday afternoon hit, 4.45 pm to be exact and people started leaving the office for the weekend. As they came up to me to say goodbye, the reality of the situation hit me. I was leaving Fluid. It wasn't just a long weekend or a short vacation, I was done. That was my last day with the people I had grown to love dearly. I know that sounds weird, but I really bond with the people I work with. I have to in order to have a happy day at work. That's just the type of person I am. So I had to erase all the personal stuff on my beautiful computer, all the emails I had saved because they were so funny. I got rid of everything and then it was time to say goodbye. Then the tears started. I didn't expect them to hit so fiercely. But they did. It started slowly but by the time I walked down the stairs and hugged my last friend goodbye, I was basically sobbing. I cried all night long and could start to cry a little right now.
Today was the first day of my new job. I wasn't nervous because I know quite a few people there, but as I sat at my stupidly slow, out of date G4, I kept thinking, "OK, I'm ready to go home now, I'm done visiting." (And by home I mean Fluid) I really felt like I was just visiting for the day, it was so weird. They all took me out to lunch to welcome me and we went to a place just a block away from Fluid, as we drove by my old office I wanted them to stop the car so I could go tell all my friends about my new place, but I didn't. I did see that one of my old co-worker friends had already taken my parking spot. HA! But my new job is great. The people are awesome and the work seems like it will be fun.
I didn't get to go to the Maverick with my girls today either. So I went by myself after work. It wasn't as fun. So this ones for you CMYK's! Can't wait for next month!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
We spent Christmas in California with my parent's this year, and we had a blast! The weather was perfect! Here are some pics. We went to the beach on Christmas, we went to the Regan library, Olvera Street, Union Station, and Santa Barbara. It was a lot of fun. We/ I missed Stella so much. Our friend Lacy babysat her while we were gone, which we really appreciate! And my friend Megan watched the birds. So the whole family was well taken care of. HA! I'm not sure if Stella was happy to be home or sad to leave her new friend Piggy, but when we got home with her, she went right to sleep and slept for the next 2 days! She was just so worn out!

Another year down, eternity to go...

That's right, another year of wedded bliss has been celebrated. Brett and I were married 2 years ago yesterday. In celebration of the blessed event, we slept in, stayed in our pj's all day, skipped church and slept most of the day. Then we made ginger bread houses and ate Wendy's. We're high class people. Can't get much more fancy than Wendy's for a special dinner.
We think my gingerbread house is the best. Brett thinks his looks like a 1970's Ogden, Utah home. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just not very exciting. But you be the judge. Mine has the candy cane fence.

We had a great day and I'm so grateful for such an amazing, loving and kind husband. I still wonder everyday why he choose me, but I sure am glad he did!!
I love you babe!

Eternity...
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...
Stella started losing her puppy teeth, thank goodness, those are sharp little suckers. We tried to take a picture of her big dog teeth, she didn't really like it much, but we did it anyways. We think she may need braces.

My sister Dana, sent Stella a cute little sweater that her dog Baxter used to wear. We thought Stella would hate it. She did at first, but now I think she quite enjoys it. She only wears it when she goes out for a potty break. Oh and she LOVES the snow. She's discovered that she can eat it, so that's what she does instead of going potty. It's pretty freaking annoying!! But she has gotten so big! She almost weighs 10 pounds now!
