Gwen's babysitter took this video of Gwen dancing the other day, and sent it to me while I was at work. It made my day, take put it mildly. I LOVE GWEN and dream of the day I get to stay home and see this crazy kid all day long! But until that day arrives, I'll be content with crappy cell phone videos taken by her babysitter.

State Fair '10
We decided to venture out to the fair again this year, with 2 main goals. Goal one, see all the animals and let Gwen go crazy mooing at them all. Goal 2, eat something fried to golden perfection! We went with our friends, so that's the little guy you'll see in some of these pictures. We forgot our camera, they had theirs, so all of these photos are courtesy of them. Thanks Ivins!
The view of the whole fair from the giant slide (our friends went on it while we stuffed our faces with fried oreos)
Goal 2:

It was hard to make the decision of what to buy, since each possible heart attack on a plate was freaking expensive, we only bought one thing and shared. We settled on the oreos. Maybe my expectations were too high. I thought these fried oreos would be the best things ever to be eaten. Ever. I was WRONG. They were soft and mushy inside, gross. The dough was good, but the rest was a waste of calories. I should have gone with the deep fried, chocolate covered bacon. Not even kidding, that was an option! GAG! But don't worry, I still have hope that one of the fried options is delicious, so until next year deep fried foods, hopefully I make a better decision then!

Did I mention
We're having a BOY!? Yeah, so pretty much everyone already knew that, but since this is my "journal" that I will eventually, one day, print out, I thought I would mention this little tidbit.

I'm feeling really good. Most of the time I forget I'm pregnant, until the end of the day. By the end of the day my back is killing and my stomach muscles feel like they are stretching like crazy. Which I guess they are.
I've kind of been in denial that we are having a boy, so I haven't done a lot of shopping for him, but tonight I had the itch to shop. So we all went to the Children's Place and then Target. I didn't find anything outstanding at the Children's Place (at least in newborn sizes), but at Target there was quite a few things I liked. It was fun shopping for a little guy. Totally different than shopping for Gwen. When I shop for her I want her to look cute. As I shop for this little guy, I want him to look cool, not too girly or wimpy. It's weird.

And because what would a blog post be without a picture of Gwen, here she is tonight. She was helping Brett bake some Czech treats for his office. She loved putting the flour in the mixer.

So here is HIS picture at 18 weeks.

One day he won't be happy that I posted that picture on the internet.

And my picture today, at almost 24 weeks.

Drama Relief
After a long, silly day... I'm really glad I get to come home to this face.

And as long as we are talking about her, do you even remember when she looked like this?
Or how about this?

And this seems like a VERY distant memory.

And this seems like a VERY distant memory.
So when things at work or in life are upsetting and I feel like someone is trying to bring me down to make themselves feel better, I just have to think about this wee one. Or I can remember that I am growing another wee one in my not so wee belly. That's when it hits me and I remember what is really important in this life...
My girl and this guy.

My poor little buddy

My little cockatiel, Teil, died last night. He was 18 years old. I have had him since I was a wee lad. He's been sick for a few months now, so I was hoping for him to go soon so he wouldn't have to be in pain anymore, but it is still so sad. I came home from work last night to find him, and then cried all night. Miranda, the green one, isn't sure how to act. Last night he was being funny and talking a lot more than usual. But this morning, he was screaming like he does when he's mad. All morning long. He's sad. I'm sad. I loved that little birdie, but Brett assures me that I will see him again and that he will be mine on the flip side.

Yellowstone
I've been so disappointed with people's lack of blogging lately (Facebook is NOT a good replacement for blogs people!), and then I looked at my blog and realized how long it had been since I posted. My excuse has not been FB, it's been laziness. Although I have a good excuse for the laziness. Pregnancy, an 18 month old, full time work and 5am workouts, don't leave a whole lot of energy for blogging at the end of the day.
I do want to share the photos from our Yellowstone trip a few weeks ago. Brett and I LOVE Yellowstone. LOVE it. We try to go every year, but this was the first year we went with Gwen. It wasn't the most relaxing vacation, but it was fun. Note to self for next year, don't go in July. It's too freaking hot.
We were able to stay at Brett's grandpa's cabin in Island Park, which is always a treat. It's so quiet and peaceful there, not to mention it saves us hundreds of dollars in hotel fees. We went to the park the first day and managed to get sunburned and sit in construction caused and buffalo caused traffic for a few hours. Which made us really irritable and not wanting to go back the next day. But we braved it again and were able to drive the rest of park. Gwen did pretty well. She hated the car most of the time, but didn't complain as much as she could have.

This picture explains how I felt the second day. It was so damn hot I wanted to die, or kill someone.
At the end of the second day we headed back to the cabin and were greeted by 3 gorgeous horses grazing in the field across the road from the cabin. We walked over to the fence and the horses quickly came over to talk to us. They were soooo friendly, but Gwen wasn't too sure about them. By the end of their visit with us she loved them and had to wave goodbye as they walked away.

On our way home we stopped in Rexburg to visit with Brett's family. His sister and her family were in town and her oldest son was receiving the priesthood so we were able to be there for it. It was so great to catch up with them. Gwen loves her cousins!
