Interesting...

Easier said than done, I know.

Pop the parakeet

I've never met a more tame parakeet.

My oh my... I'm in Target!

My designs are now in Target stores nationwide. Go to the garden section and look at the pistols. All of them with the Orbit logo were designed by ME!

You sure about that?

Brett's brother got married on 7.7.07. It was an interesting day. But aren't we so cute!

Never Again

Every month someone in my office gets to design a shirt and have it printed at the expense of Fluid. This month I offered Brett's, and kinda my, expertise to print it. I thought it would be fun. I was wrong. It took 13 hours and a whole lotta stress. You see, when you are creating something like a shirt for yourself, there isn't any stress. It doesn't matter if it looks like crap, cause it's for you. But when you are getting paid and the client expects it to look professional, it's a whole different ballgame. In the end it all worked out, and we got paid a whopping $125 for 13 hours of work. Don't do the math, it will make you cry a little. At least it did me. I do have to admit that it was fun to spend so much time with Brett, even if we did have to spend an entire Saturday at the U's print lab.

Good Time Grant

We had Brandon, Anna and our little Granty up for dinner and swimming on Friday. This kid is the cutest thing EVER! He has an obsession with spoons, so we gave him a big plastic slotted spoon, and he carried it all night. Even into the pool!

Amen

As many of you know, I've been struggling with my weight for, oh, just about my whole life. Recently I have lost 33.3 lbs, with 30 more to go. However in the last few months, the progress has stalled, and here I am scared to death that I'm going to get fat again. So I read other fat people's blogs and am able to commiserate with them, and hopefully get some motivation. When I read this one, I nearly died. It's hilarious! I just have to share this!

Enjoy!

Is it Just Me? Or...

Do you ever:

Mindlessly put food into your mouth only to then realize it and turn around to spit it out in the garbage disposal?

Weigh yourself, then use the bathroom and weigh yourself again...just to see?

Secretly get excited when you get the stomach flu?

Play the cancel game? (ie "Well, lettuce is basically water and fiber so I'm pretty sure it cancels out the juicy steak it's sitting next to")

Skip working out only because you forgot to charge your iPod?

Eat your kid's Gummy Vites telling yourself they're just *full of fantastic vitamins and minerals* when in reality you just wanted to feel like you are eating some gummy bears?

Worry you won't be able to maintain your weight loss?

Throw away a yummy treat and then change your mind and fish it out? (oh that was hard to write. Please tell me I'm not alone) Remember this Seinfeld?

Jerry: "So let me get this straight. You find yourself in the kitchen, you see an eclair in the receptacle, and you think to yourself: 'What the hell, I'll just eat some trash.'"

George: "No, no, no, no, no. It was not trash."

Jerry: "Was it in the trash?"

George: "Yes."

Jerry: "Then it was trash."

George: "It wasn't down in. It was sort of on top."

Jerry: "But it was in the cylinder."

George: "Above the rim."

Jerry: "Adjacent to refuse is ... refuse."

Oh Maria!

This last weekend my brother blessed his baby Maria. My parents came for the blessed occasion and then we had a big shin dig at my other brother's house. Here are some pictures. Notice I didn't get a single picture of the baby we were there for. Oops.

Bathroom Lurve

We redid our bathroom a few weeks ago. Little did we know that when we picked out the color, Ralph Lauren colors can't be mixed with any other brand of paint. And thanks to the paint guy at the Home Depot for not telling us this until he had mixed it. So feast your eyes on what a $30 gallon of paint can do for a room.

Oopsie!

BEFORE

So yesterday was a fun. We went to the Centerville parade and then decided to paint our bedroom. Now I know you can't tell in the picture, but it was totally pink! The walls, the carpet, the ceiling, the carpet and even the blinds! So we wanted to go completely different. We chose a lovely chocolate brown. Thinking the room is already dark, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal. We were wrong! We hate it. It's a total cave.

PS, check out the new ceiling fan, Brett installed it himself!
